What is a Network?

»In the same way that cities, villages, and their areas are connected by rota, many commuters can be connected to each other by wire or wireless system.  This structure is called a network. 

»If you have more than one commuter in your home, you can connect all the commuters together to form a small network. 

                            Types of network

  There are many types of networks.

1.) PAN is a personal area network that is useful to one person.



2.) LAN is a local area network that connects all the commuters in an office.  








3.)CAN is a campus area network that connects all the commuters in a large complex like universities. 



4.) MAN is a metropolitan area network that connects all commuters in the big city.  



5.)VAN means a wide area network which is now the next generation network.  And will be able to connect all the computers in the world wirelessly.

What is the router?

»Small networks are connected to each other through the main hub.

»While the information of a large network connecting all the commuters in many cities is transmitted through routers. 



»All computers on the network rely on servers to exchange and store information.  The main server is the leader of all commuters in the network.
